Accessible art event a success

The participating groups, the Center for People With Disabilities, Carelink and Imagine!, received several large pieces of the canvas so that the individual artists might have samples of their creation.

Funded by a grant from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD), this is the first time an Arts for All event has been held in Boulder County. VSA’s Arts for All program is made up of one-of a kind products that offer individuals of all challenges an opportunity for creative expression through arts and mobility. Art tools are designed so that participants with limited movement or lack of fine motor skills can be successful in using what mobility they have to create, paint, draw, print, and more.

Based in Denver, VSA Colorado/Access Gallery is an inclusive nonprofit organization that engages the community by opening doors to creative and educational opportunities for people with disabilities to access and experience the arts. This is the second time Via has collaborated with VSA Colorado; the two organizations worked together in 2004 on an art show featuring works by Via clients and employees in celebration of the organization’s 25th Anniversary.
