Family and Friends Mileage Reimbursement Program

This program reimburses registered Via riders for the mileage expenses of family members, friends, or neighbors who provide a ride when Via cannot. It is designed to increase your transportation options and not to subsidize rides you already depend on others to provide.

What is Via’s Family and Friends Mileage Reimbursement Program?

This program reimburses registered Via riders for the mileage expenses of family members, friends, or neighbors who provide a ride when Via cannot.

      • It is designed to increase your transportation options and not to subsidize rides you already depend on others to provide.
      • Registration is required.
      • All trips MUST be entered with Via prior to the trip date for reimbursement.
      • Scheduling is available up to 30 days in advance.

How do I register?

Contact a Mobility Specialist at 303-444-3043 – Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to schedule a ride with Via.

If we are unable to accommodate your ride, you can ask for the Family and Friends reimbursement option.

Types of trips that qualify for reimbursement:

      • Trips within Via’s service area that we are unable to provide due to scheduling constraints or service area limitations.
      • Trips from within Via’s service area to areas the Via doesn’t serve.

Registration takes 5 to 10 minutes.

Please provide the following information when you call:

      • Name
      • Home address
      • Phone number
      • Mobility status (i.e. uses a wheelchair)
      • Ethnicity
      • Date of Birth
      • We may ask for additional information

How do I enter my trips?

Call Via at 303.447.9636 Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and a reservationist will record your trip(s).

How do I get reimbursed?

Ways to Receive Reimbursement:

      • Direct Deposit (preferred) 
      • Check by mail

Reimbursement Rates:

      • 50¢ per mile
      • $12.50 maximum reimbursement for each one-way trip
      • $100 maximum reimbursement per month for all trips combined

When do I get reimbursed?

A direct deposit or check will be sent to you within 15 days.

What does the Reimbursement Form look like?
