Meals on Wheels: Project Homecoming

Project Homecoming is a service provided by Meals on Wheels for anyone returning from the hospital, nursing home or rehab.  Meals on Wheels will send you five meals free of charge, delivered to your home – no strings attached!

The service is provided when you or someone you care about is transitioning from a medical facility to home after the birth of a baby, an accident or after surgery or an illness.

Some people go home with new and unfamiliar dietary rules, which can cause anxiety and slow healing.  Project Homecoming can accommodate many dietary needs, making your transition home easier for you and your family. Each meal is made with fresh ingredients and contains an entrée, vegetable, carbohydrate, salad and dessert.

This service is provided by all three Boulder County Meals on Wheels. The sign-up process is simple and meals are delivered right to your home – for free!

“Larry H. Miller is excited to be a partner with Via to support their volunteer driver program.” – Jarred Black, Larry H. Miller Toyota Boulder.

Larry H. Miller Toyota Boulder has been a supporter of Via for over a decade. In 2017, Via leveraged a grant from the Daniel’s Fund and Larry H. Miller’s partnership to obtain two new Toyota Prius vehicles for our Volunteer Driver program.

Access to transportation is essential. Via’s volunteer driver program allows members of our community the ability to maintain a certain level of freedom and independence that they might not otherwise have.

For Larry H. Miller Toyota, a partnership with Via is a perfect fit. “Larry Miller actually had a saying ‘Go about doing good until there’s too much good in the world.’ so that’s a big deal for us here at the dealership. It’s an ongoing effort to enrich the lives of those in [our] community.” said Jarred Black, General Manager.

Larry H. Miller Toyota Boulder is a Toyota dealer of choice serving the Front Range of Colorado for more than 30 years. Their vision is to be the best place in town to work and the best place in town to do business. The dealership is committed to excellence for their customers, employees and community, and they strive to provide an exemplary sales and service experience. Their new Toyota stock includes Prius, Tacoma, Rav4, Highlander, Camry and Corolla; and they also offer a vast selection of used stock. Toyota Boulder’s mission is to enrich lives, and they are a proud member of the community. Employees of Larry H. Miller Toyota Boulder abide by their founder’s believe to “Go about doing good until there’s too much good in the world.” Through Larry H. Miller Charities, the dealership gives back throughout the year to local charities like Via.

Audio Information Network of Colorado

Do you or someone you know have difficulty reading?  Many people know about audiobooks but are unaware that other types of publications are also available in audio format.  The Audio Information Network of Colorado (AINC) provides free audio access to magazines, grocery ads, calendars of events, public service announcements, and nearly 100 Colorado newspapers.  Volunteers read and record publications for all ages in both English and Spanish.  For 28 years AINC has provided services statewide.

Listeners choose their access method.  Some use a simple digital receiver to listen to one of three regional broadcasts. AINC offers the stand-alone units at no cost.  Others prefer the convenience of on-demand telephone access.  Some use an app on their smartphone, tablet, or Echo/Echo Dot. Live streaming and podcasting are available through the AINC website.  Access to information empowers AINC’s listeners to live to their full potential.  We look forward to serving you.
