eGo CarShare Relocates to Via

Via has welcomed fellow transportation nonprofit eGo CarShare to a leased space in their Boulder headquarters on 63rd Street in Boulder. Earlier this year, eGo CarShare started the hunt for new office space as they outgrew their space in downtown Boulder.

“[We] began discussing the possibility of co-locating several months back. Via and eGo CarShare operate in a similar world of commuter transit, and a community’s transit solution must include various options ranging from paratransit to mass transit to individualized, yet shared, small, fuel-efficient vehicles,” said Frank Bruno, Via’s CEO.

Not only will eGo CarShare now call Via’s facility home, but they will also have access to Via’s maintenance team and garage, allowing them to provide maintenance to their growing fleet more efficiently.

“We are so excited to be able to find a new home at Via’s HQ, and are confident that having two like-minded organizations under one roof will lead to immediate collaboration in working to create an even stronger alternative transportation culture in Boulder,” said eGo’s CEO Peter Krahenbuhl.

Both nonprofits hope to grow their partnership in the future. Frank Bruno sees the potential of strategically locating eGo’s fleet near key points along routes operated by Via, such as Boulder’s HOP route. “This can extend the effectiveness of our community’s transit resources,” he said.

Peter Krahenbuhl also expressed interest in shared key points, as East Boulder is currently seeing an increase in transportation focus. “We are looking forward to discussing strategic locations for CarShare that will not only compliment Via’s fantastic services but serve the East Boulder community as a whole,” Krahenbuhl said.
