A Story of Independence and Hope: How Via Mobility Services Keeps Our Community Connected

Patricia, 94, shares how Via Mobility Services keeps her connected to the world.

In our mission to promote independence and self-sufficiency for people with limited mobility, we’re honored to share Patricia’s story with you today.

Patricia’s words capture what independence feels like when it’s restored with dignity and compassion. This is what your support makes possible every day.

At 94 years old, Patricia has learned what truly matters: family, independence, and the gift of tomorrow.

After raising four children, their roles have reversed. “I cared for them when they were little, and now they help care for me.” But even with family nearby, Patricia faced the reality of giving up her independence.

That changed when she found Via Mobility Services.

“Via Mobility Services means the world,” Patricia says. “Because the outside world is still my world. I’m not confined to four walls. From the minute the driver walks to my front door until they bring me safely back home, I feel cared for. They treat you like family.”

She recalls each driver by their kindness and professionalism. “They greet me by name. They’re considerate. They make me feel as safe as when I ride with my son. And I’ve had many drivers—every one of them the same. Kind. Gentle. Trustworthy.”

And then, with a few simple words, Patricia reveals the power of hope and independence:

“Your family keeps you alive. But Via Mobility Services makes you want tomorrow to come. I go to bed at night looking forward to the next day because of Via.”

Patricia has one more message to share with you, our Colorado Gives Day supporters:

“When you support this service, you are not just helping me—you are helping every senior who will someday need a safe, reliable way to get around. You’re investing in your parents, grandparents, and maybe one day yourself.”

This Colorado Gives Day, help keep our community moving.

Your gift to Via Mobility Services ensures that older adults and people with disabilities can live independently, stay connected, and move with dignity.

Give today. Empower independence. Strengthen community.
