Every Monday morning, laughter fills the front entrance of a local retirement community as a small group of residents gathers with reusable bags and grocery lists in hand. They call themselves the “happy campers,” and their destination is King Soopers.
This outing is more than a shopping trip. It’s a chance for friendship, fresh air, and independence. Their Via driver greets each rider with a warm smile, helps them on board, and ensures everyone is safely secured. Shopping bags and carts are tucked away for a smooth ride home. These thoughtful touches make a meaningful difference for riders who rely on the service for safe, dependable transportation.
For Kathleen, this weekly ride is an essential part of her routine.
“Your black bus is sparkly, clean. I’ve ridden other buses and cars that were filthy, but Via keeps everything shiny and clean. You want to get on and ride like that. And they make sure everyone has their seat belt on, so nobody gets hurt.”
Kathleen and her husband recently made the major decision to go car-free, and Via Mobility Services gives them the confidence to get wherever they need to go.
“The people on the bus make it. The driver knows where he’s going, and we’re just riding. It gets us out of the building for a little while. When we come back, I’m ready to come home.”
Kathleen smiles as she describes how it feels to stay independent with Via Mobility Services. “It just feels good—very nice,” she says.
Kathleen knows first-hand how transportation impacts the lives of older adults and people with disabilities. For her and many others, it’s not just about running errands. It’s about staying connected to the community they love.
“Transportation for older adults and people with disabilities is definitely needed now more than ever. It’s nice to know you can call and get on a bus and go where you need to go without worrying about it at all.”
Via Mobility Services offers Kathleen and her friends more than a ride. It provides safety, dignity, and connection to the community they value.
At Via Mobility Services, our mission is to promote independence and self-sufficiency for people with limited mobility. Every trip, whether to the grocery store, a doctor’s appointment, or a community event, reflects our vision: a community where all people, regardless of age, health, or ability, have access to the mobility they need.
