We at Via Mobility Services are honored to be featured on Elevations Credit Union’s blog, posted July 21, 2025. Elevations has long been a valued partner and advocate for the Boulder community, and we’re grateful for their recognition of our mission: to provide independence, accessibility, and connection to people facing mobility challenges.
Every day, our drivers like Duane “Woody” Wood bring more than transportation—they bring care, companionship, and dignity to our riders. Inspired by a bus driver’s simple act of kindness toward his father, Woody joined Via Mobility Services to give back to the community and lift spirits one ride at a time. From helping passengers attend dialysis appointments to connecting isolated seniors with community resources, our team is committed to ensuring every ride is meaningful.
Over the past 40 years, Via Mobility Services has grown to serve Boulder County and beyond, operating partnerships with RTD’s FlexRide, Boulder’s HOP, Park-to-Park shuttles at Chautauqua, and supporting emergency evacuations during wildfires, floods, and other disasters. Our team members share countless memorable moments—from the joy of a singing rider boarding the bus to witnessing the relief of families safely evacuated during the Marshall Fire.
Kari Lapenes, supervisor operations specialist, often describes Via Mobility Services as “a heart for people with different abilities.” This heart is fueled by generosity, kindness, and a commitment to the community we serve—values that align closely with Elevations Credit Union’s dedication to supporting local people and businesses.
We thank Elevations Credit Union for highlighting our work and for their ongoing partnership in strengthening the Boulder community. Together, we can ensure that freedom of movement—and the human connections it brings—is accessible to all.
