Town of Erie Introduces Erie Bee Transit Service

Erie Bee Brings Flexible On-Demand Rides to Erie

The Town of Erie is launching Erie Bee, a new on-demand microtransit service designed to make local travel easier, more flexible, and more accessible.

Launching April 21, this service is part of the Community Transportation Partnerships with Via Mobility Services. With support from a Denver Regional Council of Governments grant, Erie Bee blends the convenience of rideshare with the reliability of public transit to better serve everyday travel needs in the community.

Erie Bee at a Glance

Erie Bee is a shared, on-demand transit service that operates within a defined service area. Instead of fixed routes and schedules, trips are dynamically routed based on real-time rider requests, creating more responsive and efficient service.

The service supports everyday trips such as getting to work, school, medical appointments, shopping, and other local destinations throughout the Town of Erie.

Key features include:

    • On-demand shared rides within Erie’s service zone
    • Real-time trip matching and dynamic routing
    • Convenient pickup and drop-off locations close to where riders are
    • Typical trips completed in under 30 minutes
    • Small, accessible vehicles designed for neighborhood travel

How It Works

Using Erie Bee is designed to be simple and convenient.

Riders can book trips through the mobile app, call in for phone reservations, or schedule rides in advance—register here. Service is also available for on-demand trips during operating hours.

Once a ride is requested, the system matches riders with nearby vehicles, helping create efficient shared trips that keep the service moving smoothly for everyone.

Scheduling is now open, and service begins April 21.

Who Can Ride

Erie Bee is available to everyone within the service area. Riders ages 13 and older may travel independently.

The service is designed to support independence and expand access to transportation for people of all ages and abilities, especially those who may not have consistent access to a personal vehicle.

Cost and Access

Rides are free within the designated Erie service zone. This helps ensure transportation is not a barrier to participating in daily life and community activities.

Getting Started

Riders can now:

    • Download the Erie Bee app at www.erieco.gov/ErieBee
    • Review service area and program details online
    • Book trips up to seven days in advance
    • Call 720-303-9511 for phone reservations

Regional Collaboration

Erie Bee joins a growing network of microtransit services across the Denver metro area, including Ride Free Lafayette, Denver Connector, Lone Tree Link On-Demand, and Broomfield FlexRide. This partnership strengthens local mobility options while supporting regional coordination.

A Community-Focused Mobility Solution

Via Mobility Services is proud to partner with the Town of Erie through Community Transportation Partnerships to launch Erie Bee. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to safe, reliable, and people-centered transportation that supports independence and strengthens community connection.

We envision a future where all people, regardless of health, age, disability, income, or culture, have access to the mobility options they need to enhance their independence and quality of life.
