Via surpasses Colorado Gives Day goal

Thanks to a generous outpouring of support, Via exceeded its Colorado Gives Day goal raising more than $18,000 to provide transportation options to seniors and people with disabilities. The organization reached its goal with the help of 133 donors, both existing and new.

“More and more people need Via’s services, and it is heartwarming to receive increased giving from the community to support that. We’re thrilled to be a part of this state-wide philanthropic effort, and grateful for each donor’s gift,” Patti Micklin, development director, explained.

Via was one of 1,442 nonprofit organizations receiving donations during the fourth Colorado Gives Day. According to Community First Foundation, who along with FirstBank presents the day, more than $20 million was raised on December 10 surpassing last year’s $15.4 million total. A record number of nearly 88,000 donations were recorded, a jump from last year’s total of 69,127.

Offering service in 19 communities in five Colorado counties, Via provides on-demand transportation, individual and group travel training as well as information and referral about mobility options, including public transit, available locally.
