Family and Friends Mileage Reimbursement Program

This program reimburses registered Via riders for the mileage expenses of family members, friends, or neighbors who provide a ride when Via cannot. It is designed to increase your transportation options and not to subsidize rides you already depend on others to provide.

What type of trips qualify?

Riders must register with Via and all requests must be made in advance. If we cannot accommodate your ride, you will be offered the Family and Friends option.
Trips within Via’s service area that we are unable to provide due to scheduling constraints or service limitations.
Trips from within Via’s service area to areas the Via doesn’t serve.

How do I get reimbursed?

After your trip is authorized, you will receive a form to record your trip(s) or you can download the form below. At the end of the month, send in your form. A check will be sent to you within 15 days. You may then use the funds to reimburse your driver.

Reimbursement Rates

50¢ per mile
$12.50 maximum reimbursement for each one-way trip
$100 maximum reimbursement per month for all trips combined
