Paratransit is an alternative mode of flexible passenger transportation that does not follow fixed routes or schedules. Via’s paratransit program is an on-demand, call-up, door-through-door transportation service from any origin to any destination in our service area. This is a shared ride service and schedules change daily based on where riders need to go. Drivers assist riders on and off the bus and you may request door-through-door assistance.
This service is the heart of Via.
A ride on our paratransit service is more than just a trip. While we get you from one place to another, what you’ll experience is so much more. A new community will open up to you while you ride including friendly, helpful drivers and other riders whom you’ll get to know.
It starts with one call. Before you can begin riding Via’s paratransit program, an intake/registration phone interview must be completed with one of Via’s Mobility Specialists. A family member or caregiver may complete the interview as well as request a ride.
You will be asked a few questions to assess your travel and mobility needs and to see if the paratransit program is right for you. If appropriate, the Mobility Specialist can schedule your first ride. Other transportation options may also be discussed.

Once the intake/registration process is completed by phone and you have become a registered rider, you may request a ride by phone or online.

Fares are subject to change. All riders will be notified prior to any price change.
Via’s paratransit fleet is comprised of 51 vehicles including 9 Prius hybrids, 24 traditional wheelchair accessible paratransit vehicles, 17 MV-1 vehicles, 2 Ford Transit Vans, 1 Nissan Leaf, and 1 FordFlex.
This program reimburses Via riders for the mileage expenses of family members, friends, or neighbors who provide a qualifying trip when Via cannot.
If Via cannot fit you into the regular schedule, you can request this option.
To receive reimbursement, all requests must be made in advance through Via’s Call Center by calling 303-447-9636, and forms must be submitted within 30 days.
