At the beginning of the year, none of us at Via would have believed that we’d be hosting so many virtual events, but here we are. To say that we’ve been busy would be an understatement!
On May 21, Via hosted a Virtual Town Hall, a continuation of the Town Hall series we launched in 2019. Via’s staff gave an update about everything that’s been going on at Via and what we’re looking forward to in the future. We wrapped up with a Q&A from participants.
At the end of May, we danced the night away and raised over $900 during our first Moving Together e-Concert featuring music by Tierro Band with Bridget Law. All proceeds from this event will go towards Via’s Help Our Neighbors fund.
The second installation of our Monday Morning Cup featured a special guest from Community Food Share who discussed their COVID-19 response and gave an overview of their program offerings. Our July Monday Morning Cup will feature a guest from the Boulder County Farmer’s Market, and we hope you can join us!
And finally, our June Transit Talks focused on Behavior Studies and Transit. The discussion explored understanding the role of behavior in a culture of single-occupancy vehicles and how that impacts plans for environmentally sustainable transportation. Our July Transit Talk will we’ll be discussing transit services and transportation issues in Longmont, how COVID has impacted transit ridership, and what transportation will look like in the future.
