Press Release | Tuesday, June 30, 2020
Via Mobility Services (Via) and Seniors’ Resource Center (SRC) announced today that SRC is transferring their Transportation Program to Via beginning July 1, 2020.
[Boulder, CO] Access to affordable, accessible transportation options is essential to enhancing the independence and quality of life of all Coloradans.Seniors’ Resource Center has been a leader in providing vital transportation services to older adults for over 40 years. As communities across the Denver Metro area continue to age, the demand for rides is far outpacing SRC’s capacity to serve the active seniors who have places to go and things to do but may not be able to drive independently.
Starting July 1, 2020, Via will assume SRC’s transportation program. Via will retain all SRC staff and vehicles, and riders can expect a seamless transition. This transition will increase the availability of paratransit in the Denver Metro region without sacrificing the quality of service that SRC riders expect.
Chris Lynn, SRC’s President & CEO, shared his excitement about the transition, “I am a big believer in letting experts do what they do best. Via is a nonprofit transportation organization providing the highest quality transit services to the Denver metro. Transportation is all they do, and they do it well!”
Seniors’ Resource Center remains committed to serving the region. With this change, they will be able to more deeply focus on their vision of providing outstanding care to seniors and adults with disabilities, their caregivers, and families. Their wraparound Adult Day, Respite, and In-Home services are still available to provide support to clients to maintain their independence and to age with dignity.
“Since 1979, Via has operated our nonprofit door-through-door paratransit service with the same care and concern that you’ve come to expect from SRC. We are approaching this transition to limit any drastic changes. As of July 1, we will consider all SRC clients a part of our Via family, and we will work hard to serve their needs,” said Frank Bruno, Via’s CEO.
Enhancing mobility is Via’s cause. Mobility is not a car or a bus—it’s the feeling of freedom that comes from knowing you can move when and where you want. Via looks forward to expanding its service area to cover more of the Denver Metro region.
