Freedom to Thrive: Jennifer’s Path to Independence with Via Mobility Services
Via Mobility Services has been a key part of Jennifer’s journey toward independence. Her story began with a bold move from California to Colorado to pursue her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at CU Boulder, where she studies air quality. This transition was more than a change of location—it was a step toward blending her passions with the freedom to live independently.
During college, a sudden medical emergency caused by an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) changed her life. After nearly a year of recovery, she returned to complete her undergraduate degree and continue on to graduate school.
This experience gave her a deep understanding of the daily challenges that come with living with a disability. “It definitely opened up my perspective to see all of the challenges people with disabilities go through and having to face those challenges myself.”
Getting around campus on her scooter wasn’t always easy, especially in bad weather. That’s when Via Mobility Services became part of her journey.
With Via Mobility Services’ support, Jennifer can move confidently around campus, attend classes, and focus fully on her studies, knowing she has reliable transportation and a caring team behind her.
To Jennifer, Via Mobility Services is more than transportation—it represents independence and peace of mind. She values the professionalism and kindness of her drivers, whose support has made each ride meaningful.
Balancing her Ph.D. research with independent living, Jennifer finds joy in video games and singing, carrying the spirit of her undergraduate a cappella group into her daily life. She credits both her family and Via Mobility Services with helping her maintain the confidence to pursue her goals.
Jennifer’s story reminds us that mobility is more than a ride; it’s the key to independence, opportunity, and connection.
Every day, Via Mobility Services helps people like Jennifer access the mobility options they need to live independently, pursue their goals, and stay connected to their communities.
