Colt Weber, a Via rider living in Estes Park, has had severe hearing and vision losses since birth, and has been legally blind since a blood hemorrhage took his remaining sight in 2012. He relies on Via almost daily for work, shopping, medical appointments and entertainment.
On the evening of December 30, 2022, Colt was hit by a car on a snowy evening while walking with his dog Pete. This setback increases Colt’s reliance on Via for accessible transportation, an avid hiker who values his independence. We are grateful we can support him during his recovery.
Colt is featured in Via’s Portraits of Ability, an exhibit of “portrait-stories” on display at Via’s headquarters in Boulder. His portrait showcases his independent and outgoing personality and love of outdoor recreation. He has worked hard for a rewarding career in outdoor education and a rich life full of hiking and climbing mountains.
