Share the Road, Safely

As the weather warms, more pedestrians, motorcycles and bicycles are out and about. If you drive a vehicle in Colorado, be alert and always yield the right of way to more vulnerable traffic. Remember that state law requires 3 feet of space between a vehicle and a bicycle when passing.
Our communities here on the Front Range are known to be bicycle-friendly. Our active, outdoor, mobile lifestyle is the product of years of culture development. But this alone doesn’t ensure that we all travel safely.

Recognizing the need among car drivers for a focus on sharing, rather than on dominating the road, Edmunds.com, Inc. (the American online resource for automotive info.), asked bicycling advocates, bicycling-accident attorneys and other experts to give their recommendations on how drivers can coexist more peacefully with bicyclists. The result is this quick, fun read:  Coexisting With Bicyclists:  10 Rules for Drivers
