Last Month, more than 100 Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) members from 40 states gathered in Washington, D.C., to meet with House and Senate representatives on crucial transportation issues. Over two days, 125 in-person meetings were held to highlight the impact of public transit in our communities. These conversations help shape policies that promote accessible, sustainable, and equitable mobility for all.
During the event, we attended insightful guest speaker sessions with members of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, focusing on Reauthorization priorities that will influence the future of transit funding and development.
Via Mobility Services was honored to take part in these discussions, including a panel discussion with this year’s CTAA Leadership Academy Cohort. Representing Via, Dena Boutwell, Deputy General Manager, helped ensure that the voices of our riders and communities are heard at the national level.
In partnership with CASTA (Colorado Association of Transit Agencies), we met with key Colorado representatives, including Senator John Hickenlooper, Representative Jeff Crank, Senator Michael Bennet, Representative Brittany Pettersen, Representative Joe Neguse, Representative Diana DeGette, and Representative Gabe Evans.
Advocacy efforts like these are essential in shaping the future of public transportation, ensuring funding and policy decisions reflect the needs of our riders. At Via Mobility Services, we remain committed to expanding access to reliable and inclusive mobility options.
