Tess’s Journey: A Life of Strength, Independence, and the Gift of Mobility

Colorado Gives Day: Help Keep—and Others—Tess Moving Forward

At 16, Tess’s life changed in an instant when a car accident left her in a coma for nine months.

When she woke up, nothing was the same. Recovery was slow, but Tess never gave up. With support from her family and the Center for People with Disabilities, she worked hard to reclaim her independence, earning a peer counseling certification and learning to navigate her new world. She began to rebuild.

Then in 1987, she discovered Via Mobility Services and found a new level of independence.

With accessible rides, Tess gained the freedom to get to the gym, shop for herself, attend events, and stay connected. She’s even gone skydiving—four times!

“Via makes me accessible to everything I want to do,” she says. “The drivers are kind, professional, and selfless.”

Mobility is more than a ride. It’s freedom. It empowers people of all abilities to live with dignity and connection.

Your gift to Via Mobility Services ensures that older adults and people with disabilities can live independently, stay connected, and move with dignity.

This Colorado Gives Day, help keep our community moving.
