Comprehensive, Paid Training For New Employees

New drivers receive 120 hours of paid, extensive training.

Rest assured that you will be fully prepared before working with customers and supported along the way.

  • Classroom instruction
  • Guided driving practice
  • Supervised customer trips

Trainer Doug Stiles shares his perspective on new-hire training.

One of the most fun parts is learning to maneuver carefully through a cone course, he says.

New drivers will also learn how to support people with disabilities who use a variety of mobility devices.

A Team of Supportive Staff Is Here for You

Pursue a career that gives back.

Cecilia Younger was a Via driver before she became a trainer. That experience helps her anticipate and understand the needs of drivers.

She values being responsive and making sure drivers know the training team is always there for them.

Hear from someone who’s been driving with Via for over a decade.

Operations Specialist John Heins has been working at Via for several years in a variety of roles.

Now he supervises and supports HOP drivers, helping them be safe, prepared, and successful on the road.

Via’s Safety team helps drivers put safety first.

Safety Specialist Ashley Patterson oversees safety regulations and helps drivers with safety concerns.

She prefers in-person conversations to help her understand and document any accidents that happen on the road.

She’s also the person drivers go to if they sustain an injury and need modified duties.

We take pride in our work.

Lead Bus Detailer Claire Brown takes pride in keeping Via’s vans, shuttles, and buses clean and tidy. After all, the vehicles are drivers’ home away from home.

In addition to liking to drive, applicants should be patient, kind, and open to a little adventure, she says.
