An essential community service for 38 years!

Tom enjoys connecting with friends at the day program he attends three times a week. Via drivers ensure he gets there with care!

A LEADER IN MOBILITY OPTIONS

For 38 years, Via has been a leading advocate for the growing needs of those in our community living with mobility challenges. Via, meaning “by way of,” promotes independence and self-sufficiency for people facing low mobility by providing caring, customer-focused transportation options. Via is a one-call resource for people needing mobility services and offers paratransit (door-through-door, driver assisted) transportation, individual and group travel training and mobility options information and assistance.

TACKLING THE SILVER TSUNAMI

Boulder County’s population is aging. According to Boulder County Aging Services, between 2010 and 2020, the number of older adults in our community is projected to increase by 74 percent. This growth means an increased need for Via’s services – evidenced by more than 130 new riders registering every month. Of Via’s clients, 27% live at or below the federal poverty level of $11,880 annually, and 76% live with a disability, advanced frailty and/or chronic disease. As our community ages, Via’s commitment to ensuring mobility for life will continue to drive our work.

TOM – ENJOYING INDEPENDENCE AT 96

Tom attends an adult day program several days a week and enjoys getting out on a regular basis. His family feels as though Via is essential to Tom’s social well-being. They also appreciate that Via’s staff is courteous and helpful – this means a lot to them, and they know their dad is well taken care of. As Tom’s family put it, “Via’s services provide mobility, and this affords him the independence that he would not otherwise have.”

When Tom was asked what it means to have Via’s specialized transportation available to him, he replied simply, “Via will be one of the last blessings of my life; I am so grateful.”

VIA NEEDS YOU!

Due to increased demand, Via needs your help. As a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, Via relies on philanthropic support. Your gift goes further when you support Via because we leverage your gift with other funding sources and revenue from earned income contracts. Your support provides a critical lifeline to more than 3,000 community members who rely on Via each year. A gift of just $320 supports one rider for a year – based on an average of 40 trips taken. Thank you in advance for your donation.
